In the inaugural edition of the Hipster Runoff podcast, Carles, Hipster Runoff proprietor, hinted at the possibility that zenithal artistic fulfillment would not come from a blog but from a podcast.
This notion spurred me to consider that I, Alex Litel, should enter the overfilled field of podcasting to express my idiosyncratic, incomprehensible insights in auditory form.
Sure, I can go into some sociological analysis of how hardcore gamers and hipsters are more similar than dissimilar—but that was not of interest to me.
However, a very loosely autobiographical tale of Alec, an aspiring thespian going on thirty from Arkansas who can only speak and sing in a Cockney accent after prolonged exposure to Morrissey and “The Smifs” at an impressionable age. Being an aspiring thespian, he was offended by Steve Martin’s slight to the late Peter Sellers in the present Pink Panther revival. Thus, Alec was convinced that he could attract attention and be a serious contender for the lead in the next Clouseau adventure by assuming the role of indignant Frenchman repulsed by “an inaccurate representation of the average Gallic man.” This Frenchmen enjoyed the video games, and he felt that the ones created by the company Ubisoft—especially Imagine: Party Babyz—were superior to those from other non-Gallic entities; he also had obsession with Audrey Tautou. And future episodes me playing the roles of similar complex characters.
That's pretty much it.
